My name is CPT Duffy. I am the Battalion Surgeon for the Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq.
Our Aid Station services anywhere from 2000-3000 soldiers based out of Taji. We also perform training of Combat Lifesavers (giving basic lifesaving skills to soldiers on the road).
Unlike some other units on this website, we do have access to a sizable gym, however myself and several of the medics are avid climbers and many are interested in some extra exercise and something to break the monotony of our extended deployment. Unfortunately there is not much but flat desert around here. We do have barriers however that will make for some good bouldering layouts.
I know that you donate some equipment to soldiers in Iraq and we would be grateful for anything you can spare. Additionally, it would be great to have a website where friends and family can go to send us a gift that they know we will use.
Again, thank you for your support of the American Troops. It is re-assuring that there are still people willing to support us even after this war has lasted much longer than any of us desires.
Benjamin Duffy, CPT, MC, Battalion Surgeon
